Title: Marketing Communications Specialist

Years of Service: 7 Months

How do you describe what you do at Service Ideas to people who are unfamiliar with our company and our brand?

As the Marketing Communications Specialist I handle all corporate communications with our sales reps related to new products and sales incentives.  I design product or dealer specific flyers and marketing campaigns to help drive information and sales.  I also manage the new item set up process within our office with a focus on creating packaging, ensuring the Service Ideas brand is consistent across all product lines.  And lastly, this year I will be working a lot on the 2014 Catalog.

Do you have a favorite product? If so, which one and why?

For personal use, my favorite product is the Tea Ball.  I have one at home and use it often to make single serving tea.  For big use items, I’d have to go with the Urn.  Who wouldn’t love having fresh hot coffee available 6+ hours after it’s been brewed?  This product is genius!

What is one of your most memorable moments so far at Service Ideas?

There are lots of memorable moments including every morning when I get to make my own white chocolate caramel mocha with our state of the art espresso machine.  We also do a monthly breakfast where one department a month makes breakfast for the rest of the company; just a few of the perks of working at Service Ideas.

You recently attended your first NRA (National Restaurant Association Show). What did you think?

My poor achy feet! Ha! Actually the NRA show was a lot of fun.  It opened my eyes to how big this industry I’m a part of really is.  I loved walking the show to see what other companies are doing (including our competitors) and felt very proud that Service Ideas really stood out in the crowd for offering wonderful products and service.  The awards ceremony was probably the best because I got to meet so many of our sales reps in person for the first time.

What are some of your favorite summer activities to enjoy in your free time?

I love doing things outdoors like hiking, canoeing, swimming, kayaking, camping, bon fires, and I also get out on my motorcycle quite often.  Summer in MN is too short.
